Shawn graduated from Fort Kent Community High School in 2000. After graduation Shawn went on to join the United States Air Force He was stationed at numerous bases including Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, Langley AFB in Virginia, Osan AB in South Korea, and Tyndall AFB in Florida. Shawn also spent six months in Saudi Arabia during the 9/11 attacks.

While in the service Shawn was selected to be a member of the Quality Assurance team twice and was also selected to serve on the Air Force William Tell Team which takes roughly 20 pilots and enlisted people to represent the entire Air Force in a competition in Florida.

Shawn left the Air Force with an Honorable Discharge in July of 2009 and moved back to Northern Maine so that he could attend school. He is currently working on finishing a bachelors in Business Management at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and works at County Physical Therapy where one of his duties is to run the highly successful boot camps. He will soon start a very prestigious internship with Barresi Financial in Presque Isle.

Shawn's hobbies are football, basketball, any intramural sports, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
