Rachel Rice

Rachel serves as the Director of Community and Media Relations for the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where she works with news organizations at the local, state, and national level as they cover stories about the University. Rachel also shapes media strategies, campaigns and community outreach efforts for the University.
She has lived in northern Maine since middle school and graduated with a B.A. in English from the University in 2001. Before stepping into her current position, she worked as a reporter with the Aroostook Republican and News for two years, and then as a reporter for the Bangor Daily News for four years, earning four Maine Press Association awards for her writing.
She is a member of the Presque Isle Rotary Club and the Area Management Team for the Special Olympics.
Rachel resides in Bridgewater with her husband Ray and their children Zach and Naomi.
She is involved with Momentum Aroostook because she believes people her age should have the same social and professional opportunities available in bigger cities.
